Science
Our challenging and engaging science program helps students develop theoretical and practical skills, while enabling them to engage with and explain the world around them, benefiting their own curiosity and future development.
The science curriculum provides the opportunities for students to have experience within chemistry, biology and physics through a combination of practical and theoretical lessons. Science enables students to understand why something works the way it does and allows them to gain theoretical and practical skills.
As students progress through ISPH, they will learn to understand how science is studied and practised, and become aware that the results of scientific research can have both good and bad effects on individuals, communities and the environment. It plays an important role in providing hands-on development of literacy, numeracy and a global world view whilst exploring the ethics of certain practices. The yearly secondary science assembly allows students to showcase their scientific skills and to enjoy the more explosive side of the subject.
At ISPH, Students take part in timetabled science as well as a range of events and activities:
-
Chemistry club: An extracurricular activity where students are able to expand on their knowledge and practice exam techniques.
-
Science assembly: A yearly event where students can showcase their scientific skills and to enjoy the more explosive side of the subject.
-
National/ international competitions: Students will have the opportunity to enter school competitions such as the national science bee.
