Early Years Centre

A safe and stimulating learning environment for young children to develop their skills in preparation to progress into Year 1.

The Early Years forms part of the Primary School at The International School @ ParkCity Hanoi catering for students aged 3 to 5 years old. Our highly skilled Early Years team works closely with parents to give our youngest students the best possible start in their educational journey. The EYC offers a dynamic and carefully prepared environment with well-resourced indoor and outdoor spaces, enabling the children to engage in purposeful play based experiences as well as to take part in a wide variety of adult-led and child-initiated activities.

As experienced Early Years educators we understand that every child is unique and that they develop at their own pace and in individual ways. Children from all around the world are welcome to attend our EYC, and through the universal language of play, children can communicate, make friends and grow. Our students enjoy coming to school each day and arrive excited to discover what new opportunities for progression, extension and challenge await.

Curriculum

 

The EYC curriculum and approach to learning at ISPH is based on the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Students learn skills, acquire new knowledge and demonstrate their understanding through three prime areas: 

  • Communication and Language (speaking; listening and attention; understanding)
  • Physical Development and (moving and handling; health and self-care)
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development (making relationships;  

   self-confidence and self-awareness; managing feelings and behaviour)

and four specific areas;

  • Literacy (reading; writing)
  • Mathematics (numbers; shape, space and measures)
  • Understanding the World (technology; the world; people and communities)
  • Expressive Arts and Design (exploring and using media and materials; being imaginative)

Active learning, play and exploration, creativity and critical thinking are central to the EYFS. This approach to learning gives our students the best possible start in their educational journey.
