Kathleen Cleeves

English Teacher (Head of English & Humanities)


Kathleen joins ISPH with twenty-two years of teaching experience, seventeen of which were gained in international schools in Italy, Vietnam, Myanmar and Malaysia. She holds an honours degree in English and Women’s Studies and a PGCE, both of which are from the University of Gloucestershire, (UK). 

Initially starting out as a Y6 primary teacher, Kathleen went on to teach Secondary English at KS3, IGCSE, A Level and IB level. She is also a certified CELTA Language teacher. In 2015, Kathleen completed a Master’s Degree in International Education from the University of Bath, (UK). Her past responsibilities have included coordinating Language across the Primary school whilst in post in Italy as well as successfully leading the Y7 English team whilst teaching in Vietnam. She particularly enjoys preparing students for LAMDA Reading for Performance Exams and has run a variety of creative writing courses, something which she is keen to continue in her new post at ISPH. 

In her spare time, Kathleen enjoys being outside in nature and exploring new places with her young daughter. Kathleen is especially excited to be returning to live and teach in beautiful Vietnam as well as contributing to the wider ISPH Community; she is joined in Hanoi with her five-year-old daughter who will be joining Year One.
