James Davies

Head of PE (Assistant Head of Secondary – Key Stage 3 & Enrichment)

James is from the UK and grew up in the Peak District. James has been working in education since 2001. Initially involved in sport development work, teaching specialist PE lessons in primary schools, he then taught and coordinated PE in secondary settings. James made the exciting move to teach overseas in 2012. Since then he has worked as Head of PE in British international schools in China, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Ethiopia.

James is passionate about developing fundamental movement skills and physical literacy for all ages while fostering a love of physical activity through sport education. James has a keen interest in promoting wellbeing and guiding young people to find their pathway to healthy living.

James is a passionate advocate of outdoor education and uses his skills as a qualified UK Mountain Leader to develop the International Award program in schools. James is also an Associate Assessor for Pearson Education, specialising in GCSE PE.

James is joined in Hanoi by his young family and is looking forward to sharing the whole experience with them.
