Viv Howells
Music Teacher (Head of Performing and Creative Arts)

Vivian (Viv) is from the UK and studied at Trinity College of Music in London. She then gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Music from the University of Reading, followed by a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Research from Durham University.
Viv has taught and led Creative and Performing Arts in several highly respected schools and colleges in the UK, as well as performing and managing music events at leading venues across the country. Viv’s experience includes work developing widely-used curricula & assessments for international schools, a position for which she has recently been posted to countries in South East Asia.
As a teacher, Viv loves to develop opportunities for student-centred, innovative performances in music, drama & dance. She has a particular passion for practical work in performing arts, which embeds students’ knowledge and understanding, and makes learning holistic, engaging and fun.
In her spare time, Viv likes travelling, kayaking, walking and camping with her family and the local Cub Scouts. Viv is joined in Vietnam by her husband and two children, who are all delighted to be a part of the wonderful ISPH community.
