Chris joins ISPH following four years teaching at Nexus International School, Malaysia, where he also led the Middle School curriculum in mathematics. Prior to this, Chris taught for eight years at Leyland St. Mary’s High School in the north-west of England, where he held responsibilities ranging from a pastoral leader to assistant head of faculty.
Chris graduated from the University of York with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Mathematics. Following his degree he worked in Seoul, South Korea, as an English teacher, then returned to the UK to gain his PGCE in Secondary Education from the University of Cumbria.
Chris is passionate about the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) not only because of their increasing importance in today’s world, but also being able to share the joy and beauty to be found within the subjects.
Chris has a great love of travel and he is looking forward to further exploring the region with his wife Jen and young son. He is also a keen multi-sports athlete, competing in marathon, duathlon and triathlon events across south-east Asia. He has raced in the last two Ironman 70.3 World Championships and he is eager to inspire budding triathletes of the future whilst at ISPH. He has a variety of other interests such as Russian literature, American folk music and the history of football.
