Craig Ferris
Physics Teacher
After completing his BSc Degree in Biochemistry at Massey University, New Zealand, Craig taught senior level Chemistry and Biology in his home city of Napier, Hawkes Bay. He spent the early part of his career teaching there before moving overseas to Italy and Portugal where he played professional rugby. Returning to New Zealand he taught Physics and Chemistry and led the International Student department at Napier Boys High School. Taking his then young family back to Lisbon he taught for many years at St Julians British School of Lisbon. Craig has over 25 years experience of teaching, managing and leading various aspects of school life including schools in the UK, Portugal, China and New Zealand where he taught IGCSE, A-Levels, and the IB Diploma Physics courses.
Outside of the classroom, Craig has always been involved in coaching rugby and swimming, and has helped organise sports trips promoting student involvement and Internationalism all over the world. He strongly believes in trying to help get the best from every student by challenging and encouraging them to believe in themselves to become confident, resilient young adults.
Craig is keen to travel and experience many of the wonderful aspects of life in Hanoi and Vietnam and looks forward to becoming a member of the ISPH community.
