Nick Lighthelm

Humanities Teacher

Nick is joining ISPH after having already taught in Vietnam for 6 years. He has experience teaching a variety of Humanities-based subjects that perfectly complement his professional background as an attorney. While he maintains his status as admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa, he has found teaching to be his true passion.

Nick has earned a variety of qualifications, including a Bachelor’s degree in Law, a Master’s degree in Education in Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum Design and professional qualifications to teach Humanities in the UK and USA. His core educational passion is supporting students to develop key skills needed to succeed in today’s information-rich world. This includes being able to process information critically and form reliable arguments based on available information and research. Humanities subjects are the ideal opportunity for students to practise these skills, allowing them to rise above their peers and achieve success in both their future academic careers and professional lives.

In his free time, Nick is an avid reader and always welcomes a recommendation for a new book. He is also extremely passionate about animals and has his hands full with his two cats and dog at home. He sees Hanoi as his home and looks forward to the amazing opportunity of joining the ISPH family for many years to come!
