Ms. Anne Shifley

Anne Shifley is an experienced and highly qualified primary educator with over 10 years of international teaching experience, currently based in Hanoi. Holding a Master of Education with a focus on Learning, Teaching & Curriculum and TESOL from the University of Missouri, as well as dual professional teaching certifications including UK Qualified Teacher Status and US Elementary Education Licenses, Anne brings a strong academic foundation paired with a passion for fostering inclusive, student-centred learning environments.

Since 2018, Anne has taught Years 3 to 5 at Vinschool Green Bay, where she recently served as Head of the Cambridge Department. In this leadership role, she managed and mentored a team of ten international teachers, led professional development workshops, monitored curriculum quality and instructional practices, and contributed to reports for CIS accreditation. As the highest-ranking foreign staff member at the school, Anne was instrumental in ensuring alignment with the school’s mission, values, and academic standards.

Her classroom teaching is characterized by differentiated instruction, a growth mindset approach, and a strong commitment to students’ social-emotional development. Anne has extensive experience delivering lessons in English as an Additional Language (EAL), Math, and Global Perspectives aligned with the Cambridge curriculum, fostering positive and respectful classroom communities where every student can thrive. She also created and maintained an online learning platform to support self-study and parental engagement.

Anne’s international journey began in South Korea as an English teacher and continued in Thailand at Anglo Singapore International School, where she taught K2 students and led co-curricular activities including football and outdoor exploration. These diverse experiences have enriched her cross-cultural competence and ability to connect with students and colleagues from varied backgrounds.
