On Sunday, February 24th, the ISPH staff team embarked on another thrilling journey into the competitive world of football! As reigning champions, we carried with us an aura of confidence and camaraderie as we headed to UNIS Hanoi, this year’s gracious hosts. With 16 teams representing Embassies, Businesses, and Schools from all corners of Hanoi, the stage was set for an incredible day of sportsmanship and connections.
Our approach to football? Free-flowing, progressive, and a testament to teamwork! We passed out from the back and pressed smartly, strategies that carried us through the group stage – with a heart-pounding last-minute goal in the third match! From there, we breezed through the quarter-finals, and the semi-finals had us on the edge of our seats, culminating in a nail-biting penalty shootout victory.
However, fate had other plans, and we narrowly slipped to a 3-2 defeat in the final. Our heartfelt congratulations go to Greenfields on their well-deserved success!
As we left the field, we couldn’t help but feel an immense sense of pride in our silver medal achievements, though we couldn’t help but rue what might have been. We’ll be back stronger and more determined than ever in 2024, BritCham!
